Arriving in Genessia
A series of conversations between the dragons in Azalea's clan that would occur off the communication devices.
Azalea flew all over Fayren until she found the ripple that would lead to her very own subarchway. She slipped through the gate, and sure enough, all of the Kalma Clan dragons were gathered around, trying to decipher just what this ripple was.
"Azalea?" Amadeus asked. "Did you just pass through that thing?"
"Yes..." Azalea could almost feel happy tears welling up in her eyes. "It worked! It really worked!"
"What worked, exactly?" Qubine asked, sounding none too happy about it. "What have you done?"
"I've opened a subarchway in Fayren," Azalea said. "I gave up my Haste spell to do it, but...I really wanted to see you all again! I've missed you so much!"
"Fayren?" Qubine asked. "What exactly is 'Fayren'?"
"It's one of the five cities in Genessia..." Azalea responded. She could already hear the question, what is Genessia, so she explained further. "See...we're not exactly in Sornieth anymore. Somehow I woke up in Genessia after a deep sleep...though I don't know how it happened. There are many other people from different worlds who arrived in Genessia the same way. No one knows how it happened, or how to get back to where we came from. There are some people investigating that, but I'm not involved in that."
"Great. And what exactly are we supposed to do here?"
"Well...we just live as we normally do. This world isn't nearly as dangerous as Sornieth, but some strange things do happen occasionally. I should warn you that you won't be able to leave the lair without me. I can only pass through the archway gate because of this..." Azalea points to her pendant.
"What is that?" Coco asked.
"It's some kind of pendant. Everyone who was brought in from their home worlds has one, and also one of these." Azalea held up her communication device. "This allows us to keep in contact with each other. So we can talk to the others here, or make announcements through these. I keep my ears open in case I hear something interesting, or if someone threatens Genessia."
"Threats, eh?" Qubine asked.
"Yes, occasionally. Sometimes we have to combine our strength to defeat whatever threat comes our way."
"Then we'll have to do the same," Qubine said. "Although I'm aware that quite a few of you have yet to complete your training. Many others have yet to even start."
"But how do we complete our training if we can't leave the lair?" Lazarus asked.
"You may have to spar with one another," Qubine said.
"There's also a coliseum in Attleton," Azalea added. "You can battle with some of the people there to train. Even those of us who have finished our training can battle there. I've been wanting to compare my own power with those of the other residents. It's also a place where death is not permanent or penalized."
Amadeus blinked, adjusting his glasses. "Wait, death isn't permanent? What does that mean?"
"It means that people can return from death, just as they were before they died. Not like when the Plaguebringer reanimated the dragons' corpses."
"How curious..."
"Then we'll take that route," Qubine said. "Just because this world may be safer, we shouldn't let our skills wane. And now that we're stuck here, we might as well settle down. Azalea, I trust you can show us around this new world?"
"Yes," Azalea said. "Just let me know when you're ready, and I'll be glad to show you around."
"All right. You may do as you please." Qubine turned and walked out of the clearing.
